Happy 148th Birthday Canada!

Canada Day at the Legislature is a celebration that honours Alberta's history and diversity through entertainment and activities for all ages.
There will be three main performance areas featuring some of the best local Alberta talent in music and dance. There will also be roving performers and interesting exhibits to enjoy throughout the Legislature Grounds and the North Grounds plaza.

New in 2015

The Visitor Centre on the main floor of the Edmonton Federal Building will be open to the public on Canada Day from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Highlights to check out in the refurbished historical building include the Pehonan Theatre, the Agora Interpretive Centre and the Alberta Branded retail store.

Canada is turning 148 years old in 2015 and we are celebrating the occasion by bringing you a fun-filled day, Alberta style! We will have three performance stages to entertain one and all with over 20 live acts to keep you dancing. There will be roving performers, arts and crafts for the kids, food vendors and even a display of military gear and vehicles hosted by the Lord Strathcona's Horse.

Alberta Family


West Lawn
Programmed in partnership with the CBC and Edmonton's Celebrate Canada Committee, the Alberta Family Fun Zone will offer quality family entertainment and activities. Canada's favourite Kids' CBC host Patty Sullivan will be dropping by for a visit along with some very special guests!
This year, the Alberta Family area will be located on the South Grounds. While you're here, don't forget to get a Canada Day temporary tattoo and show off your Canadian Pride throughout the day! 

Alberta Diversity


North Amphitheatre
The Alberta Diversity stage on the North Grounds will celebrate the richness of our province's cultural landscape through the music and dance talent of some of Alberta's best performers. Adrienne Pan, host of CBC News Edmonton, will host this stage.

Alberta Discovered


South Grounds by Bandshell
Alberta Discovered is where you'll find some of the best singer/songwriter artists and bands in the country. The one thing they have in common? They all hail from Alberta and they're performing right here on Canada Day. Hosted by CBC Radio 3's Grant Lawrence, the music gets under way at 12:40 p.m. and will close out the day's celebrations at 7 p.m.
